Are you running a business with a social benefit of have plans to do so? Are you looking for funding and expertise? Are you ready to scale up quickly?
If so we may be able to help – enter the Big Venture Challenge…
This is a competition looking to find the 25 most ambitious social entrepreneurs in England. We are looking for exceptional people with radical ideas – think the next Big Issue – who have got what it takes to deliver social impact at scale.
Winners will each get £25K and will then be able to apply for additional £50K – £100K if they can match this with loan or equity investment. In addition, they also get access to an intensive programme of first class venture support, mentoring and connections designed to keep pace with the fastest growing social entrepreneurs.
We know that communities across England are facing increasing social needs as a result of public sector constraints. So we need alternative solutions at scale in order to meet these increasing social needs. We want to find the next generation of social enterprise and social entrepreneur brains.
The Big Venture Challenge is also aiming to stimulate the social investment market by providing flexible seed finance and attracting co-investors to support ambitious high growth social ventures.
In other words, we need:
- people with big ideas to transform disadvantaged communities across England;
- people who have got what it takes to build credible ventures;
- people who have the ambition to scale up impact fast.
